First off plug the power cable and DSL cable into the modem. Next plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the modem and the other end into your computer. Check to make sure the Power light, DSL light, and Ethernet light are all solid green. If the DSL light is not solid green call Century Link. Something is not right with your Internet connection and you will not be able to configure the modem without a good DSL signal.

Open your browser and type in the IP address of the modem. Normally the IP address of the modem will be 192.168.0.1 .  This should take you to a “Main Menu” screen. Normally I try the “Auto Configure Your Gateway” option, but most times it doesn’t find the settings for Century Link. If it doesn’t find the settings, click on the “Manual Setup” option.

Select the “RFC1483 via DHCP” option under Quick Setup and then Apply.

Next go under Advanced Setup and click DSL Settings.

Change the VPI setting to 8 and the VCI setting to 35. Make sure the Mode is ADSL2 and the QoS setting is UBR. Hit Apply. Wait for a couple seconds, and you should receive an Internet connection. Update: I recently installed another one of these modems. I was having a hard time getting the DSL light to stay solid green. I called a Century Link technician. He told me if you have an 8mb connection or above you will want to use ADSL2PLUS as the DSL type. Once I changed it to that setting I got a steady DSL connection.
If you don’t receive an Internet signal click on DHCP settings under Advanced Setup and make sure the DHCP setting is set to ON.

If you still don’t receive a Internet connection, try unplugging the power from the modem for a couple minutes and plugging it back in. Check to see if you have Internet. If you don’t have an Internet connection yet, call Actiontec Support @  1-888-436-0657. I hope this helps.
